General View c 1905
(Stengel & Co postcard, used 1911)

The original must have been taken 6 or 7 years before it was postally used, as it appears to mark the beginning of the viaduct construction at (1).

Stretching uphill to the left of (1) is the area called Higher Kelly in the 1901 Census. At that time, the continuation downhill was called Sand Lane.

In the same Census, (2) was the Steam Packet Hotel and either side was enumerated as Lower Kelly. Using the hotel as a guide, it's possible to work out an approximate location of other houses along that road.
