The West Briton and Cornwall Advertiser, 16 February 1844
On Thursday, the 8th instant, an inquest was held by Mr. GILBERT HAMLEY,
Deputy Corner, in the parish of Calstock, on the body of BENJAMIN
WESTLAKE. He left his house in the forenoon, apparently as well as
usual, and not returning to his meals, his daughter went to seek him. He
was found, at nine o'clock at night, lying in the orchard, quite dead.
